I have to admit - while I may not know how to fix a car, I have always loved the feeling of shopping for a new set of wheels. From a sleek sunroof, a super tricked out interior, to wifi,...

Well, our vacation is officially over and as we're headed down the highway back to New York, I've decided to compile my fave five highlights of our trip to Maine. Thanks to my friend Jennie at Baby Name Wizard, I was armed and ready with her family's favorite things to do in Bar Harbor and I have to say, Jennie was right on the money. So this list will include a few of Jennie's picks sprinkled in with our fave finds. Take a look...

Typically this time of year, my entire family gets incredibly antsy and starts begging me to make vacation plans. You see, every summer, without fail, we try to take at least 2-3 vacations so that we can finally unwind from the year and reconnect with one another. The problem is, this year, now that my kids are teenagers, I no longer am the vacation dictator in our family. I used to just select a trip and then tell everyone where we were going on a need to know basis. Not anymore, it's now a free-for-all where everyone wants to go somewhere else and I have to search the Internet for the most affordable deal that we'll all enjoy. So here are some of the trips we're considering...

I don't know about you, but I am a slave to my navigation system. In fact, even when I'm in my own neighborhood, you can find me programming a random address into my TomTom and voila, all fear escapes from my body because I know that no matter what, I'm going to get to where I'm going without any wrong turns and trust me, when left to my own devices, I could be lost for hours. And sometimes, I've even lost my way just a mere 10 minutes from my home.

Barbados is a Caribbean island. More than that, it's one of the most popular sun-soaked destinations worldwide. Travelers flock to the island for its unspoiled natural beauty. Naturally, think sunshine and you also think of beaches. One of the biggest draws of Barbados holidays are the beaches found here, which can rival anywhere else in the world.

There's something to be said about sitting at home one day, then going on an impromptu vacation the next. The thrill of spontaneity and the "I can't believe we're doing this" factor are two sweet combinations. That being said, it can be a bit nerve wracking as vacations are usually planned out months in advance, and not only a week or two. In light of that, here's how to smoothly plan an instant holiday.

Truth be told - my husband and I have not had a romantic weekend without our kids in a very long time. Between work, our kids, school, finances and our dog, we don't get much anymore. So when the PR team from the Carlton offered me the chance to take my hubby with me for a special night out on the town, I jumped at the chance.

Last week my family and I had a taste of the fantastic Great Wolf Lodge right in New York City. Great Wolf Resorts is the world's largest chain of indoor water parks which owns and operates its family resorts under the Great Wolf Lodge brand. Even though we were in a hotel ballroom, we were transported to a magical land with holiday celebrations galore. There were crafts, delicious food, cookie decorating and of course the star wolves, Wiley and Violet. My husband, kids (ages 10 and 7) and I all thought the food was really good, especially the desserts. The kids decorated howl-o-ween bags that they will use to trick or treat next week and my daughter and I were transformed into princesses and treated to some pampering at the "Scoops Spa".

This summer, I had the chance to try out the brand new Toyota Highlander for one week. I happen to love getting the opportunity to drive a new car over the summer - especially on our road trips. Riding in a new car, with that distinct new car smell always makes me smile and I have to say, our set of wheels for the week did not disappoint. While my kids were in sleepaway camp, we actually too the car for a road trip with our faithful companion Santana. Yes, our dog happens to love riding in cars so she instantly took to her new digs. We placed her crate in the trunk by flipping down the third row and she periodically poked her head out of her home to survey the scenery.

Over the last year, I've put on a few extra pounds and have been a bit depressed. After trying ever diet on the planet -- from Jenny Craig, to Weight Watchers, to a juice cleanse, I really never understood why I couldn't just exercise and eat sensible meals and stay at a weight where I feel comfortable about my arms, my legs and everything in between. But alas, no matter what I do, I typically lose weight, keep it off for a few months and then I return right back to where I started with a few extra pounds I need to shed.

I am a lucky lady. Besides all of the obvious things - fantastic family, health, friends, etc. - my job takes me to amazing places and lets me have experiences that I can then share with our fabulous Role Mommy readers! Last weekend my hubby and I packed up the car and our two kids (ages 10 and 7) and headed to the gorgeous state of Vermont. I was invited by The Essex Resort & Spa to experience a special family getaway and get a taste of the dining and cooking academy.

A few months ago I received a wedding invitation for a close family friend. The wedding was going to be in Florida. I am a big fan of the destination wedding, but with two kids and financial restraints, it's not always easy to swing it. I really wanted to go. I wanted to spend time with my parents, celebrate with a friend I have known since I was three and is like a brother to me, but most of all - I wanted to get AWAY.
